Engaged! Meet the love of my life: Emanuel, who I often refer
to as E.
It took 10 plus years for God to bring us together and I
thank God for bringing us together in His own special, perfect way. We get
married this summer and to say that we are excited is an understatement!
Here are some of my favorite things about E:
+ He seeks to understand. James 1:19 says, “But everyone must
be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger.” E listens wholeheartedly
and chooses his words wisely. I love that I can trust him to not only speak
honestly, but kindly as well.
+ He’s a huge dork! Y’all don’t even know! He does the
silliest things and always manages to make me laugh. E comes off as reserved but once you get to know him, he has a playful side. He is constantly teasing
me!
+ I truly believe that one of E’s spiritual gifts is the gift
of encouragement. E is constantly reminding me of my identity in Christ –
something that I need reminding of quite often. He grounds me in who I am in Christ
and his words are truly “like honey, sweet to the soul” as King Solomon says in
Proverbs.
+ E is gentle. This is definitely one of my favorite things
about E. It is so rare to meet a man who is full of gentleness. The world
paints gentleness as weak and feminine, but a man who is gentle
demonstrates true strength and confidence. A man who is gentle practices
self-control and love – traits that men AND woman lack today. The best thing
about being E’s fiancé is knowing that I can come to him with anything and having full confidence in knowing that he will bare it all with gentleness and tenderness.
What a precious gift!
Through
Christ, E makes me feel safe, secure, cherished, and loved. My heart is
overwhelmed that God would bring me such a precious and priceless blessing –
the man of my dreams. I love E and I can’t wait to be his forever!
