It's Spring! Life Update

Saturday, April 29, 2023

It's been many months of figuring out a routine, balancing family, work, ministry, and all of the fun stuff in between. It's hard to believe that spring is here! Something about the warm weather and sunny days feels so promising and it really is literally a much needed breath of fresh air.

Here's what we've been up to!

- I'm ending my first year as LCD and thankfully will get to continue it next year. I'm looking forward to summer and spending my days taking care of my family and my home. It'll be so fun to have playdates with Hazel and Zephaniah!

- Eli will be one in O N E month! Can y'all believe that? I feel like I just posted his birth story on here and he's already making his way into toddlerhood.

- Speaking of Eli, motherhood has completely transformed me. Challenging and self giving doesn't describe it enough, but I'm thankful for the way it's drawn me closer to the Lord. When you contemplate the love you have for your child, it truly is so humbling to realize that God's love for us is even deeper than we can fathom.

- Life with Eli has brought so much laughter. E and I are constantly looking at each other and just saying ,"He's sooooooo cute" because he really is just the cutest! We love him so much and our lives are so complete with him.

- Scripture memory has been huge on my heart and I just recently memorized Psalm 121:2 "My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth." A steady and comforting verse when I need help but no one can help me.

- After 11 months postpartum, I'm finally feeling like myself! Maybe it's because of the longer hours in the day or the amount of sun we've been getting, but it feels great to finally feel like me, if that makes any sense, haha. I don't feel as anxious or uptight anymore and the lingering sadness and loneliness seem farther and farther away with each coming day. Praise God.

- E and I caught caught up to My Hero Academia. Not my favorite anime, but it's still good. It was fun to watch together!

- Currently planning three things: Eli's birthday party in May, my sister in law's baby shower in July, and a bridal shower for my soon to be sister in law (also in May). Exciting things!

- We go to Kauai in a little over a month and while I'm stoked for this trip, I'm a little nervous about bringing Eli on a 7 hour flight. Pray for us, haha.

- Ever since I was 9-10 months pregnant, I became really motivated to live a cleaner and much healthier lifestyle. I've slowly been switching out our products - food, cleaning supplies, plasticware, etc. Some of my new favorite clean and non-toxic products are Branch Basics, Molly's Suds, and Pipette!

And while I welcome my season of rest this summer, I know that life will only continue to get busier and busier. It's truly taught me about being more intentional with my time and how I spend it. You never gets these days back and it's like the saying goes, these are the days we'll look back on and wonder where the time went. Cherishing these moments.
