It’s hard to limit
this to ten because food is life! Here ya go, my top ten!
1. Steak
I love mine medium
with a side of steamed broccoli and potatoes. I. Love. Steak.
2. Papaya Salad
I like my papaya
salad Lao style – dark and savory with lots of lime!
3. Zaub Haub
Make a side of
pepper with this dish and it is complete! This is the ultimate comfort food and
I could eat this every day.
4. Curry
It can be Indian
or Thai, but I think curry is always best with lots of potatoes and lots and
lots of hot pepper!
5. Kapia (yes, I
know I butchered the spelling, haha)
I add a ton of
lime (at least 3 wedges of lime), sriracha, hoison, a hefty amount of black
pepper, cilantro, and fish sauce. I always eat at least two bowls of this.
6. Kimchi Jiggae
My sister in law,
Jasmine, makes a good pot of this! It’s even better after a day or two because
all of the flavors mix and sit together. I love the tangy taste!
7.Pork Belly with
Bok Choy
Now this – this is
a match made in heaven! Add some oyster sauce and you have perfection.
8. Spaghetti
I can eat
spaghetti for days. No lie. I remember eating spaghetti for my three meals a
day for a week straight.
9. Ribs
Specifically, I
love ribs that are smothered in original BBQ sauce. So yummy.
10. My father-in-law’s
pho
I would describe
this as a broth that rivals pho because I would definitely choose it over any
restaurant pho! It is dark and flavorful and my favorite way to eat it is with
wide noodles!
