Day Twenty Six // My Picture Board

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

My picture board has been with me for almost 6 years now, isn't that crazy? It was given to me as a birthday gift from one of my friends who used to live in Colorado. The pictures I have pinned up on the board are pictures hold that meaningful memories to me. All of these photos have a story behind them and I'm reminded of those stories whenever I glance at these photos.

It's not the cutest nor is it the most aesthetic picture board, but I appreciate it!

+ The photo at the bottom right was taken when I went to Laos with my family. We were visiting a small village and brought candy and fruit snacks to pass out to the children. They were dressed in clothes that were too small, too thin, and streaked with mud, but in my eyes, they were absolutely precious.

+ The photo strip at the top left was taken on my last outing with my Korean friend, Jihye. We had Korean BBQ and bingsu, then we walked around city hall and took pictures together. She'll comment on my Instagram pictures from time to time and I'll do the same. I'm thankful to have made a genuine friend in Korea.

+ There's a picture smack dab in the middle of the board that's covered by some of the other photos, but it's a picture of Heaven and I taken right after I gave my maid of honor speech. The photo reveals the feelings we all felt during her wedding - pure joy, excitement, and genuine love.

+ The photo of me, Vic, and Heaven holds such a fun memory! It's crazy to think that my friends came to spend several days with me in Colorado four years ago. I remember always getting into bed with the two of them when we were in college and I love that we were able to share a bed one last time before life made its move.

+ I love the polaroid of Mai and I! It felt like a dream when she came to visit me because we had so much fun. I remember laughing till my stomach hurt and I also loved the heart to heart talks we shared. Mai came to visit me at the perfect time! Her encouragement and love for me inspired me to let go and move on.

+ There's another polaroid in the top right corner, but it's hidden by another photo. It's a polaroid of my brother and I. I love my brother so much.

+ The photo of Eman and I was taken when we attended our first wedding together! I remember feeling extremely shy because I still wasn't used to being so public with him, but E took such good care of me that night and I soon felt very comfortable.

+ The photo of the girls and I marks an important day! Well, it was just my 22nd birthday, but it was truly my friends that made this day very special. It was a rough time for me, but I thank God for bringing sisters in my life that would plan something so sweet for me. I felt so loved that day for the first time in a long time!

Looking over these photos is a wonderful reminder of how I live a very, very blessed life.
