Two days after our wedding, E and I headed to our honeymoon destination: Steamboat Springs! We had originally purchased our flights and rented out an Airbnb to Maui, but due to covid we had to postpone those plans. While it was naturally very disappointing, E and I still agreed to go on a "mini-moon" in place of our original honeymoon. Even though Steamboat Springs was kind of a random location we chose, we were absolutely stunned at the beauty of the location and we couldn't believe how much we were missing out until then! So pretty, guys. E and I want to come back again!
Our Airbnb was literally called Mountainside Nook because it's placed perfectly in a tiny "nook" of the mountain. We had the most beautiful view of the mountains and E and I loved watching the sunset. We arrived at our Airbnb around dinner time and instead of going out to eat, we decided to grab some food and eat at our Airbnb. We ate some KFC and watched one of our favorite TV shows: How I Met Your Mother. This was such a good night.
Our amazing view! We took tons of pictures here!
We spent a large portion of our time in bed eating and watching our favorite TV shows together: Chopped, How I Met Your Mother, and we watched a few episodes of Psycho but It's Okay. I think E and I both can agree that this was one of the best parts of our honeymoon. Besides staying home and chilling, E and I were able to get out and do a few things. We originally wanted to go to Strawberry Hot Springs, but due to covid, we had to book spots there and so we ended up going to Old Town Springs. The water was warm and sooo relaxing.
E and I were surprised to find out that Steamboat Springs has delicious spots! We discovered many brunch places and they were all amazing. Here are some of the brunch spots we ate at:
Dinner was also our favorite time of the day. We got dessert every time, which we usually don't do so it was a nice treat! I looooove eating outside, so we tried to do that every time we got the chance to. Every day was perfect.
E and I also spent a day on the Alpine Ride! It was fun and exhilarating and the view was an added bonus!
The drive back home was bittersweet. As much as we were looking forward to the start of our new life in our apartment, we treasured the time we spent in Steamboat. It was a wonderful time of getting to know one another and I couldn't be more thankful to create memories with my greatest companion. Despite having to postpone our Maui trip, I wouldn't have changed anything about our honeymoon. I had the best time with my husband!
