When E and I chose our wedding party, we were very selective in who we chose. We knew that the people we wanted in our party would be those who would fully rejoice and celebrate with us, as well as love us. Of course, it wasn't hard for me to choose my bridesmaids because I had already picked them years ago! These girls have really been by my side. I grew up without a sister, but never desired one because God has always been so faithful to fill that spot with lifelong friendships with Godly women. I knew without a doubt that I wanted these women in my wedding, not just to witness my union with E, but to be a witness to our marriage and our life.
This picture of Mai and I always makes me giggle because it's so silly! I swear, you can almost see the love in our eyes, lol. I look up to Mai in so many ways. I know that she's experienced deep hurt in the past, but when I experience the kindness and graciousness that flows from her heart, it is to clear to see the love of Jesus Christ in her. I've exposed some of my deepest thoughts to her - things I would never tell anyone else and she returned my confessions with love and honesty. She is a great friend and sister - you will be blessed to have her in your life - guaranteed. Love this girl so much.
I love these pictures of Heaven and I as I believe they truly portray our friendship. I wish everyone could've heard her maid of honor speech. They were words spoken from heart and I treasure that so much. So many memories of us laughing and being silly together, but also countless memories of sharing our hearts and talking about what God is doing in our lives. I will never forget the time when my heart was confused and I felt like it was in turmoil. I didn't have the courage to tell Heaven the truth and could only muster the words, "I think you know." She knew. Instead of judging me, she responded with grace and truth, "This is not who you are." Our relationship can only be described as chill, weird, goofy, but so full of love. So blessed with you, friend!
If there is a friend that is as sweet and thoughtful as can be, it is Vic. Her actions of love and wanting the best for her friends was so evident to me, especially when she came to CO for my wedding. It really touched my heart to see that she wanted the best for me in every way. Being in her presence is so calming. I always feel safe by her side because I know that her friendship is one that is trustworthy and true. We were roommates for 3 years and it was such a pleasure to grow with her. It's not very often that you can find a person to live with for 3 years, but she was that person. Vic, you are such a sweet and true friend!
Maila has always, always been an older sister to me. Growing up together, I've witnessed her love and protection over me. Her honesty is something I admire. I know that I can count on her to tell me the truth and have confidence that it is done all out of love. I don't have a biological sister, but I thank God for putting Maila into my life to fill in that role. Through her, I've experienced the love and care of an older sister. Maila is fashionable, hard working, honest, but also so very funny and down to earth. Love her!
I love my girls!
